Rice prices today 7/6 in the Mekong Delta region have no change compared to yesterday. Accordingly, in An Giang, the price of OM 18 rice is purchased by traders for 6,800 VND/kg; Rice OM 5451 price 6,300 – 6,500/kg. IR 50404 rice price ranges from 6,200 to 6,400 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is purchased by traders with prices ranging from 6,600 to 6,800 VND/kg. The price of Taiwanese fragrant 8 rice ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 VND/kg. The price of Japanese rice ranges from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice (dry) is priced at 13,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, sticky rice is stable. Accordingly, AG (fresh) sticky rice costs 6,200 VND/kg. AG (dry) glutinous rice is priced in the range of 8,200 – 8,400 VND/kg. Long An sticky rice (dry) is priced in the range of 8,600 – 8,800 VND/kg.

According to traders, today the amount of raw rice is less, the quality of rice is better. Trade in summer-autumn rice is stable, rice prices fluctuate slightly in some areas.

In the export market, the export price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice is being offered at $498/ton. Meanwhile, the price of 25% broken rice is at $478/ton; Jasmine rice 578 USD/ton.

According to the Vietnam Food Association, rice exporters have all had orders in the second quarter as well as the whole year of 2023. Currently, businesses are increasing the collection of goods to ensure the delivery schedule.

The high price of export rice encourages people in the Mekong Delta to sow seeds and take better care of the summer-autumn rice crop. As of May 30, the sowing area of ​​the summer-autumn crop in Long An province reached 199.5 thousand hectares, reaching 91.5% of the plan.

In An Giang, as of May 27, the whole province has finished sowing 228.9 thousand hectares of summer-autumn rice. Currently, the area of ​​rice developed to the flowering stage is 18.7 thousand hectares.
