Accordingly, in An Giang, updated by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the average price of fresh rice purchased by traders at the field fluctuates around 7,100 – 8,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the price of IR 504 rice is at 7,100 – 7,300 VND/kg, down 1,100 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is at 7,200 – 7,300 VND/kg, down 1,200 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in the provinces of the Mekong Delta region, rice prices decreased sharply, varying depending on each area. In some golden rice fields, farmers harvest rice. OM18 fragrant rice, traders give the buying price around 7,500 – 7,600 VND/kg in Thoi Lai (Can Tho), Giong Rieng (Kien Giang), Hau Giang,… In Soc Trang, traders give the buying price of fragrant rice at 7,200 – 7,300 VND VND/kg, however, farmers demand 7,500 – 7,600 VND/kg to sell. The quality of rice is not as good as in other areas, so traders do not accept higher prices, trading is moderate, the amount of rice is very small.

Regarding rice products, today rice prices have not fluctuated. Specifically, at market rice warehouses in An Cu and Cai Be (Tien Giang), the price of raw rice OM 18 is at 12,300 – 12,400 VND/kg; Taiwan fragrant rice 8 at 12,600 – 12,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice fluctuates around 11,800 – 11,900 VND/kg; OM 380 11,450 – 11,550 VND/kg; Japanese raw rice is at 12,600 – 12,700 VND/kg; ST 21 raw rice at 13,900 – 14,000 VND/kg; ST 24 raw rice is at 14,400 – 14,600 VND/kg.

In the rice market, today there is little rice coming in, traders stopped grinding new rice. Some warehouses that need goods increased their buying prices, many others stopped buying and observed the market. In An Giang, many factories stopped offering for sale, mainly closed pre-signed deliveries, and there were very few new transactions. At the market rice warehouses, in random transactions, market rice is asked to buy more fragrant rice than other types.

In the export market, Vietnam’s export rice prices remain stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 25% broken rice is at 608 USD/ton; 5% broken rice at 628 USD/ton; 100% broken rice at 508 USD/ton.
