Rice price today March 16, 2024: Price continues to level off

Rice prices today, March 16, in the Mekong Delta region continue to trend sideways.

In the rice market, recorded in Mekong Delta provinces such as An Giang, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, Tien Giang… the average price of fresh rice purchased in the field is 7,300 – 8,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates around the mark of 7,800 – 8,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 fluctuates around 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg; OM 380 rice at 7,500 VND/kg; IR 504 rice is at 7,400 – 7,500 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,800 – 8,100 VND/kg.

In the rice market, it was recorded that in localities such as An Giang, Tien Giang, and Dong Thap, a lot of rice arrived, but there were few beautiful rice boats, so the warehouses bought less. Market transactions are slow.

Accordingly, in An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang), beautiful OM 5451 rice maintained at 11,800 – 11,900 VND/kg; IR 504 is at 11,300 – 11,600 VND/kg.

In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the price of beautiful fragrant rice is at 12,000 – 12,200 VND/kg; OM 380 rice at 11,000 – 11,200 VND/kg; Beautiful OM 5451 rice fluctuates around 11,350 – 11,550 VND/kg; IR 504 rice at 11,200 – 11,400 VND/kg; RVT at 12,600 – 13,100 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices are flat. Accordingly, rice prices often fluctuate around 14,000 – 15,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17.00 – 18.000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice 26,000 VND/kg; long-sliced pineapple 19,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam’s rice export price today remains stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association VFA, standard 5% broken rice is at 584 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 563, USD/ton; 100% broken rice is stable at 478 USD/ton.
