Rice prices today 19/6 in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam: Increase and decrease in different localities

Rice prices today June 19 in the Mekong Delta region adjusted mixed between localities. Accordingly, at An Giang warehouse, rice prices remained stable. Specifically, the price of OM 18 rice was purchased by traders for 6,800 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price 6,300 – 6,500/kg. IR 50404 rice price ranges from 6,200 to 6,400 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is purchased by traders with prices ranging from 6,600 to 6,800 VND/kg. The price of Taiwanese fragrant 8 rice ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 VND/kg. The price of Japanese rice ranges from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice (dry) is priced at 13,000 VND/kg; AG sticky rice (fresh) costs 6,200 VND/kg

With dry sticky rice, AG (dry) sticky rice is priced in the range of 7,200 – 7,600 VND/kg, Long An (dry) sticky rice is priced in the range of 7,900 – 8,100 VND/kg.

Similarly, in Can Tho, rice prices continue to remain stable in some varieties such as: IR 50404 is 6,800 VND/kg, Jasmine is 7,600 VND/kg; OM 4218 is 7,500 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, in Tien Giang, rice prices have increased with some rice varieties. Accordingly, the price of IR 50404 rice in Tien Giang increased by 200 VND/kg to 6,800 VND/kg. In contrast, the same reduction for Jasmine to 7,000 VND/kg; OC10 alone is still at 6,800 VND/kg.

Particularly in Hau Giang, the price of rice adjusted down. Specifically, the price of IR 50404 rice is 7,400 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg; RVT is 8,500 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg; OM 18 alone is stable at 7,800 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of raw materials and finished products increased. Accordingly, the price of raw rice fluctuates around the mark of 9,800 – 9,850 VND/kg, increasing by 100 – 120 VND/kg; finished rice at 11,100-11,200 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg. For by-products, the price of sheet is adjusted to increase by 100 VND/kg to 9,500 – 9,600 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dried bran remained stable around 7,500-7,700 VND/kg.

At the retail market, the price of rice remained stable, ordinary rice remained 11,500 – 12,500 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; Soc rice is usually 15,000 VND/kg; Sticky rice 16,000 – 18,000 VND/kg; Common white rice 14,500 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai 18,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg; Bran 7,600 – 8,000 VND/kg; Long grain Thai fragrant rice maintains 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg and Huong Lai 19,000 VND/kg.

According to traders, the source of raw rice today is less, the wharf is empty of rice. The summer-autumn rice market has not changed much.

In the rice export market, the export price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice is being offered at $498/ton. Meanwhile, the price of 25% broken rice is at $478/ton; Jasmine rice 578 USD/ton.

Data from the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that, in the summer-autumn crop of 2023: provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, sowing is 1.320 million ha/1.5 million ha, reaching nearly 88 % of the planned area, harvested is about 152 thousand ha, with a yield of 66.19 quintals/ha.
